The time has come; Millennials now make up the largest population in America. That’s right, 18-32 year olds your time is now. If you look at American culture from top to bottom it is a tech driven, meme reading, tweet sending, insta posting, inter-connected web of youthful joy. Millennials are the most educated generation to ever grace the United States of America and one of the most debted as well. We’re living fast and spending cash.
We have a sense of togetherness and connectedness not previously known to our parents and their parents. Over the course of the last three days I’ve read many articles on the “mentality” of millennials written by people in their 50’s, and it seems like they are finally showing respect. The time has passed where we hear “back in my day” and is replaced with “show me how.” Baby boomers need us to teach them in order to stay up to speed in a changing global environment. We are certainly cashing in left and right on the newfound opportunity.
Millennials created a culture where we can start movements at the drop of a pin and justice comes on a national scale. We witnessed the “Ice Bucket Challenge” raise many millions of dollars from the bandwidth that we have made a standard in our culture. Millennials are leading the way for great causes and doing so with level minds on their shoulders. So cheers, Millennials, because we have now staked our claim. We’ve got skin in the game and our gang is bigger than the rest. We’ve learned from the best now it’s time to ink our place in history. Ready, go!
