Yooo, what’s up Props Nation. This is my first time doing this, but figured I’d switch up the type of props blog we present to you today. Since music playlists are a part of everyone’s daily routine, it’s only right that we give props to those tunes that assist you in getting it done. To start off, I want to give a big props to SoundCloud for making it possible for us to experience all types of different types of music from everyone in the world.
The first song on this week’s playlist is by none other than Pittsburgh’s very own Mac Miller. He appears twice on this playlist, but the first song is off of one of his mixtapes. It’s the song that got me hooked on Mac, and every time I hear this song it reminds me of back when I first transferred to Purdue. We follow this with the next track by Mac as well. I put these two songs back to back to show you the first Mac song that got me hooked and to give props to one of his latest new tracks. The third track is recommended from an old friend of mine back in those Culver days, *shouts out to the CTO Tabari former classmate back at Culver* named Jamman Chalmers. Background on this guy Jamman – we we’re good friends back in high school, then he disappears from the face of the Earth. Personally, I thought he got abducted by Aliens due to the randomness of his disappearance, but I stumbled across one of his tracks the other day called What’s Up that his friend Fuentes produced. I like the way he flows his words, and overall just a good track to vibe out to with a P.Y.T.
This Drake track on here that’s next is called Sweeterman. First off, this is long overdue. Props to Drake for not only murking Meek Mill, but also making him trending on the internet for at least a week. Honestly, I think I can speak on behalf of the rest of America that we’re still laughing at those memes. I mean, goddamn Meek. The man brought Will Smith, Future, and played a power point presentation of memes of you during OVO Fest and what do you come back with? A freestyle during one of your concerts saying you’ll give him a wedgie? Let’s…let’s move on.
So following that banger by Drake, we got one of Kuma’s mixes. This is the track that got me hooked on Kuma. It’s falling for somebody new. I think we can all relate to those lyrics. I especially can because it starts off, “Ever thought of calling when you had a few…because I always do,” which sounds like she suffers from drunk texting and basically sums me up. This next artist is one of my new favorites. Kid goes by the name of Jayden Smith. Songs called trophy V6 and is great to listen on a Sunday when you’re just vibing out with cool peoples.
Hope you enjoy the playlist and it starts your week off right. Props to these artists and SoundCloud for helping me make it through the week!
