Design is Everywhere

In light of Thanksgiving, this blog is dedicated to something I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for a lot of things in life. Truly, I’m a blessed individual. I have amazing parents who supported me growing up, financially and emotionally, to chase my dreams. I have an amazing sister who’s my best friend. I have amazing…

There Are No Strangers in this World, Just Friends Who Haven’t Met

Ireland’s history is recent, colorful, and tragic in so many ways. They’re fighting for their freedom, they’re fighting to become a viable, profitable country, and they’re fighting to remain relevant. To give you a little perspective, Ireland is approximately the size of the state of Indiana and is home to about 7 million people, 3 million of which reside in Dublin alone. But for a small country, they’re fighters, they’re humble and they’re happy, happy people (maybe it’s all the Guinness).

Disconnecting

I’m in the field of technology for my career, my freelance work and my hobbies. I work a full time job as a graphic designer, I freelance design invitations, websites and logos, I write blogs when the mood strikes me, and I helped design and market the CyberProps app (go download it). I’m literally connected…

“Because Freedom.”

Last weekend I was at Indiana University’s homecoming. I was intoxicated, because freedom. My friends and I were leaving the apartment before heading out to the bars when we ran into one of the neighbors having a cigarette by himself. “How’s your freedom tonight sir?,” I asked him. “Uh.. my freedom?,” he responded. “Everything secure tonight?” I went on to say, by now at everyone’s annoyance.

Props to Positivity

Props to positivity. As corny as it sounds, positivity really can make a world of a difference. Whether it is a friendly greeting from your neighbor, an unexpected compliment by a stranger you simply cross paths with, or praise from your boss. A positive communication has the power to transform someone’s day from gloomy, to at the very least, sunny with a slight overcast…

Why Everyone Needs Work Friends

There’s the family you chose and the family that chose you… in a sense. What I’m here to recognize most admirably are your work friends and your social friends and the wonderful difference. There is a great and vast difference between the way you and your work crew operate and the operations of yourself and your social circle. Outside of work you befriend people that have common interests, lifestyles and humor. At work, you befriend people mostly because the cube farm can’t operate without some level of camaraderie; I beg you to look deeper.

Life is a Book

Have you ever walked briskly down a busy New York City street on the Upper East Side at about the time it’s just starting to get dark and shuffled hastily into a glowing Barnes & Noble, only to ride the escalator you’re greeted with down into a haven of aesthetic ecstasy as thousands upon thousands of crisp, new books with perfect spines are arranged from left to right on shelves over fifteen feet high? I have, and, well, damn…

Moving 2,068 Miles From Home

Props: Uncertainty, Spontaneity, and California Burritos. There comes a time in every college student’s four year binge (longer for graduate students…or victory lappers) where he emerges from his blackout, figuratively and literally, and he realizes that college doesn’t last forever. For a lot of college students, this epiphany occurs around 4:00 AM after having defied science by…
